The Smooth Haired Dachshund Club Update for 2003-2004

 

Our second Open Show at Barkers Butts was again rewarded with good weather and an excellent entry of 140. Some absentees of course, but still well filled classes.

The judges were Roy Wood ‘Wildstar’ Best In Show and Varieties.

Smooth's : Jennifer Cunningham ‘Celandine’ from N Ireland.

Min Smooth's : Wendell Moore ‘Cloudside’ (Wires and Afghans).

Smooth Best Of Breed Morris and Judith Armstrong’s Lauralee Inspiration.

Min Smooth Best Of Breed and Best In Show  Sue & Jason Hunts Ch Carpaccio Shopaholic.

 The Club Stall, run by Debbie and Jeremy Brettell continues to go from strength to strength, making a large profit at Crufts. It has realised an excellent income over the year.  The balance sheet for the year end will let everyone see just how much work Debbie and Jeremy have done for us.

The Club badges, ring clips and car stickers look really nice, in black and gold, featuring both varieties.

 

 

 Open Show 15^th August 2004

This year sees a move to The Canine Academy at Tollerton near Nottingham. This venue was set up specifically for canine events. Everyone who has been to any of the many events held there has been impressed with the facilities.

 2003

The Open Show held in conjunction with the Hound show January 2003 went very well.

The Min Smooth entry being, 48 dogs 58 entries and Smooth's 29 dogs 30 entries which is much greater than the Hound show usually gets. We provided the prize money and our rosettes, which were magnificent.
